It’s a beautiful start to the new year. The holidays were simply blissful. We spent Christmas in Santa Barbara with the kids and grand baby. My son, the Marine, was home for Christmas which meant that I cooked The.Whole.Time I was on vacation. But how could I turn him down? He had a list ready of meals he was looking forward to: Spaghetti, lasanga, chicken enchilada’s, strawberry waffles, chocolate chip pancakes PLUS Christmas Dinner. I cooked and cooked and cooked and I would do it all over again.
Had a great time with my daughter and her family. The baby is simply adorable SQUEEEEE!
The weather was perfect, 74 during the day and low 40’s at night.
My trip didn’t go exactly as planned however, I only worked out once, ate WAY more than planned and then got sick. I’ve been nursing a cold since about the 26th and it really hit me hard once I stopped moving a mile a minute. The drive home was spent with me snorking and coughing and hacking up a lung.
All in all the trip was perfect, the weather was perfect and the drive both ways was perfect. What a wonderful way to end 2013.
